Tikland

Cookie Policy

Last updated 30 August 2026

The short version: Tikland has no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. What we store is what is needed to sign you in, remember your language and keep bots out. This page lists all of it.

What we store, and why

  • Your sign-in session: kept in your browser's local storage by our sign-in provider, Supabase, so you stay signed in between visits. Clearing it signs you out.
  • Your language: a small cookie recording whether you chose English or Farsi, so the site opens in the right one.
  • Your chosen search location: kept in your browser's local storage so you do not have to pick your area every time. It never leaves your device as a stored record.
  • A bot check: Cloudflare Turnstile sets what it needs on the sign-in and sign-up pages to tell a person from a script. Without it, those pages are a free target for automated abuse.
  • Our own visitor counter: Umami, which we run on our own servers rather than a third party's. It stores a small marker in your browser's local storage, sets no cookies, records no personal data, and cannot follow you to any other site. It respects your browser's "do not track" setting.

What we do not do

We do not use cookies to advertise to you, to follow you across other websites, or to build a profile of you, and we do not embed a third-party analytics tracker. We do count visits, but with software we run ourselves, on our own servers, storing no personal data and no cookies. Nothing about your visit is sent to an analytics company.

This is also why you are not greeted by a consent banner: everything above is either strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for, or a security measure. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.

Managing it yourself

Every browser lets you see and delete cookies and local storage, and lets you block them. Blocking what is listed above will sign you out and may stop the sign-in page working, because the bot check is part of it.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you think we are storing something this page does not mention, email support@tikland.co.uk and we will answer, and correct the page if you are right.

Changes

If we start storing anything not on this list, we will update this page and, where consent is needed, ask for it before we do.
