Tikland

Terms of Service

Last updated 30 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Tikland. They cover what we do, what we do not do, and what each of us is responsible for. Please read them, especially the part about who you are actually contracting with when you book.

What Tikland is

Tikland is a platform. Businesses use it to manage their bookings, clients and schedules, and may choose to publish a listing so customers can find and book them. Customers use it to find local services and book them, in their own language.

By using Tikland, with or without an account, you agree to these terms.

What Tikland is not

We do not provide the services you book. When you book, your contract for that service is with the business, not with us. We pass on the booking and the messages around it.

That means the business is responsible for turning up, for the quality and safety of what they do, for holding the qualifications, insurance and licences their trade requires, and for their own prices, cancellation rules and refunds.

We check listings before they are published and we remove what breaks our rules, but a listing on Tikland is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a verification of anyone's competence.

Your account

You must be 18 or over. Give us accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you let someone else use it (a colleague, a member of staff), that is on you.

Booking a service

Some businesses confirm bookings instantly; others review the request first, and we will tell you which one you are dealing with. A request is not a booking until it is confirmed.

The business sets the price, the cancellation terms and any deposit. Those are shown to you before you book, and they are the ones that apply.

Right now Tikland does not take payments. You pay the business directly, in whatever way they accept.

Changes, cancellations and no-shows

You can cancel through Tikland, and the business's own cancellation policy decides what that costs you. A business can cancel too. They should tell you why, and we will pass that on.

Any refund is between you and the business, because they took the money. If they will not put something right, tell us: we cannot force a refund, but repeated complaints affect whether a business stays on Tikland.

Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer under UK law.

Listing a business

Listing is optional: you can use Tikland purely as a business tool and never appear publicly.

If you do list, what you publish must be true, must be yours to publish, and must comply with the law and with our publishing policy. Some claims we will not carry at all, and some we will only carry once you have shown us the registration or qualification behind them.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us permission to show it, resize it and translate it so it can appear on Tikland and in search results, which is the whole point of listing.

We can decline, suspend or remove a listing, and we will tell you why.

Reviews

A review must describe a real experience you actually had. Do not write one for your own business, for a competitor, or in exchange for anything.

We remove reviews that are fake, abusive, discriminatory, or that reveal someone else's private information. We do not remove a review just because it is negative, and a business cannot pay to have one taken down.

Using Tikland properly

Do not use Tikland to break the law, harass anyone, impersonate anyone, scrape or copy the directory in bulk, probe or overload our systems, or upload anything harmful.

Do not use anyone's personal information you obtain here, a customer's phone number for example, for anything other than the booking it came from.

What it costs

Tikland is free to use while we are getting started. If we introduce charges for business features, we will tell you before they apply to you and you will be able to decide then. We will never charge you for something you have already used without telling you first.

Suspending or closing an account

You can close your account whenever you like: email support@tikland.co.uk.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm someone, or where we are required to. Unless the law stops us, we will tell you why and give you a way to respond.

Our responsibility to you

We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Beyond that: we provide Tikland as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise it will never be down, and we are not responsible for what a business does or fails to do.

If we are liable to you for something else, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it happened, which, while Tikland is free, may be nothing.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use Tikland after that means you accept it.

Complaints, law and where disputes go

Tell us first: support@tikland.co.uk. Most things are quicker to fix than to argue about.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your own courts.
